Abingdon County Hall Museum
THE COUNTY HALL AND MUSEUM COLLECTION One of Abingdon’s oldest and most beautiful buildings, the County Hall was built between 1678 and 1684 by Christopher Kempster, a protege of Sir Christopher Wren. It was built to house the Berkshire Assize Courts, the location for 200 years of some of the County’s most important criminal trials. For example, a man named Dennis Collins, arrested at Ascot Races for throwing a stone at His Majesty King William IV, had his trial at Abingdon on Wednesday 22nd August, 1832. Collins’ sentence of death was commuted to transportation for life!

Join us in our rural setting based around the original 1930s engine shed. The Railway Centre is open every weekend throughout the year (other than 26 December 2009)

Northmoor Trust
The Northmoor Trust is based in South Oxfordshire and manages an estate of 300 hectares, including Little Wittenham Nature Reserve and Wittenham Clumps, a conservation farm, a woodland dedicated to forestry research and Project Timescape, the Trust's visitor centre.

Oxford University Museum Of Natural History
The Oxford University Museum of Natural History houses the University's scientific collections of zoological, entomological and geological specimens. The Museum itself is a Grade 1 listed building, renowned for its spectacular neo-Gothic architecture. Among its most famous features are the Oxfordshire dinosaurs, the dodo, and the swifts in the tower.
